POEMS
My Trusted Companion
Loyal is the wolf
His heart pure and true
Misunderstood by man
Thought to kill for pleasure
But wrong man has been
Indian lives with wolf
Even calls him brother
So why can't we
He is my guardian and protector
Always watching over me, protecting me
In my dreams he watches me
His eyes of liquid gold prying through the black mist of sleep
His voice, his howl, the wolfsong, keeping nightmares at bay
In my dreams I see him,
Me and him, running freely, through forests side by side
The sound of birds rushing through my ears.
The smell of spring water running through my nose
The trees, the animals, the earth sweeping by
He is there by my side
Noble is the wolf
Always their when I need him
My brother, and my friend
Till the bitter end
