Avoid:
• ice cream, sherbert, malted milk, milk shakes, instant cocoa mixes

• brains, kidneys; canned, salted or smoked meat: bacon, bologna, chipped beef, corned beef, frankfurters, ham, meats koshered by salting, luncheon meats, sausage, smoked tongue; frozen fish fillets, canned, salted or smoked fish: anchovies, caviar, salted cod, herring, sardines; canned tuna or salmon unless low-sodium; shellfish: calms, crabs, lobster, oysters, scallops, shrimp

• canned vegetables and vegatable juices unless low-sodium dietetic, frozen vegetables if processed with salt

• fruit flavored beverage mixes and powders, commercial gelatin desserts

• regular breads, crackers, rolls, muffins; commercial mixes; cooked cereals containing a sodium compund; dry cereals other than those listed or those that have no more than 6 mg of sodium/100 g of cereal; self-rising flour; self-rising cornmeal; potato chips, pretzels, salted popcorn

• regular butter, regular margarine, commercial salad dressings or mayonnaise unless low sodium-dietetic; bacon fat, salt pork, olives, salted nuts, party spreads and dips

• beverage mixes, including instant cocoa and fruit flavored powders; fountain beverages, including malted milk; soft drinks, both regular and low caloric; bouillon cubes, powders or liquids; sodium cyclamate, sodium saccharin: commercial candies, commercial gelatin desserts; regular baking powder, baking soda, rennet tablets, molasses, pudding mixes 1
