Home .... in the suburbs...

We have 3 cats.... before Liza came to live with us they pretty much ran all over the house... since her arrival, there's been a destinct demarcation of property....

Mussetta adopted Liza (because she was the only female feline? A suburban case of woman's lib?)

Mussetta's son Xerxes, but better known as "Tanki" (refers to his teeth in the local vernacular) became Tim's cat - he had always wanted a big fat lazy window-sill cat - he got that, and more... an attitude that will make Garfield jealous! During September 2003 Tanki  passed away after a  protracted bout with absesses in his jaws.

My cat came much later - due to a senseless act of butchery by the security guards at my previous employer in controlling the feral population. He was minute.... and only 5 weeks old when he lost his mother and siblings....

Magwi (also known as "Kurk" - the "u" as in "bush"

Magwi's eyes were bright blue from day one... he looked like a registered lilac point! No browny points if you guess whom he's snuggling up to!

Some month's later he started going dark!!! but look at them eyes ma!!!!

I should have added earlier that Tanki, having been sired by a persian (them of lovable nature but serious lack of grey matter!) took after his father.... the lights are on.. but there's no one upstairs. He took it into his mind one day to teach Magwi (his junior by a year!) how to catch... err... fish for mice on the porch.... " You see Magwi, you curl your tail like a hook and then drop it down the wall on the verandah....wait for the nibble!!!!

Even then , Magwi showed his higher IQ... he'd heard somewhere that fish hooks are curved on the end!!!

Magwi is about 5 years old now... and like all good pavement siamese he's gone darker and darker....

Jeepers, creepers... look at them peepers... still bright blue!!!

The latest addition to the feline family is Cilla (the Vet recommended that Tim get a replacement for Tanki ! She's quiet... well mannered, respects her elders and .... sleeps a lot!!

Let it be known why I am so quiet during your summers.... Liza and I get stuck in front of the "lesser" machines (they don't talk to computers) light up a heater and then it's "left-right-left-right... go figure... or look at the piccie below:

And this year... only for the second time in my life... we had "funny" rain in winter... it floated...:-)

Coming soon... the doggies... yip, you guessed... 3 of them!
