Video Games

Wii:

Super Mario Galaxy
Wii Play (7 - fun and simple, can draw in non-gamers, plus comes with a free wiimote, but most games don't have high replay value)
Wii Sports (8 - great pack-in, good party game, draws in non-gamers)

Playstation 1&2:

Final Fantasy Tactics (10 - all time favorite strategy game, and possibly all time favorite game)
Disgaea (10 - a close second to FFT)
Chrono Cross (8.5 - no Chrono Trigger, but an enjoyable RPG)
Final Fantasy VII, IX, X, XII (all 9.5-10, in order of preference probably VII, XII, IX, X - the best RPG series around)
Katamari Damancy (9 - good quirky fun, multiplayer is fun but somewhat limited, some appeal to non-gamers, hard on the thumbs)
Ogre Tactics (9 - solid early strategy game, precursor to FFT)

GameCube:

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (8 - fun "hack and slash" with a friend)
Eternal Darkness (8 - does a good job pulling off its gimmick, good variation on the action/RPG/survival horror genre, parts are insanely hard)
Gladius (8 - fun variation on the strategy genre, although the unit balance is a pretty broken if you are good at the critical hit system)
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (10 - a whimsical, fun, fresh take on the Legend of Zelda series)
Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2 (9 - great party game)
Super Smash Brothers Melee (9 - fun variation on fighting game theme - good party game or solo)

DS/GBA:

Brain Age 2 (8 - fun puzzle games, plus sudoku, bargain price, of interest to non-gamers, unknown lasting appeal)
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (9.5 - a departure from its namesake, but fun in its own right, a good solid portable strategy game)
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (9.5 - an adventure on par with non-portable Zelda games of the same time period)
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (9.5 - a worthy sequel to Wind Waker, great use of the DS stylus)
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis (9.5 - a good solid portable strategy game - a worthy rival to FFTA and in many ways better than its predecessor Ogre Tactics)
Tetris (8 - it's a classic that never goes out of style)
