Eulogy
In Loving Memory of
Colonel Thrall

Wilfred L. West

1938 - 1999

Today, we celebrate the life of Wilfred L. "Vern" West,
born in Keokuk, Iowa, May 21, 1938,
who died suddenly on August 18, 1999,
in Breckenridge, Colorado, in the mountains he loved so well.

Vern was a man of many interests. His number one interest
was life! He enjoyed it to the fullest. Although he took a
medical retirement because of a serious heart problem, he
continued to pursue a variety of interests including
railroads, light rail, history (especially Colorado), and music.

He will be sorely missed by his family and by the many lives he
touched with his courage and fortitude, friendship and
enthusiasm.

This we know: All things are connected.
Like the blood which unites one family,
All things are connected.
Whatever befalls the earth,
Befalls the sons of the earth.
Man did not weave the strand of life,
He is merely a strand on it.

- Chief Seattle
