Welcome to Chaya's Homepage
Hi there everyone and welcome to my homepage!!  Chaya is my Hebrew name, it means life.  I just graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Lighting and Robotics Engineering and a minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering.  Besides doing engineering homework all the time, I managed to be involved as the Lighting Engineer for the Purdue Theatre Department and help recolonize  Sigma Delta Tau on my campus.  That's right I'm a sorority girl too, scary huh?  Since I was one of the founders I got to write the constitution, so our discrimination policy includes sexual orientation and gender expressionism.  My sisters have been amazing, and very supportive.  At first I'm not sure they quite understood why I refused to wear a dress to our formal (btw, I'm also transgendered), but in the end they still loved me, and we always had a good time.
Unfortunately, my sorority days have ended and I have moved to Boca Raton, FL where I am beginning my life as an application/systems engineer.  I have met some amazing people here already, and I look forward to what lies ahead in my future here.
On my way out of the closet I did a lot of researching via the internet to find resources, and I was never quite satified with what I saw.  So, I decided that maybe I should make my own websight, in hopes that people coming out or just anyone else can hopefully find some comfort in what they find here.
I've compiled a lot of resources dealing with sexuality and gender expressionism.  I'd recommend looking at my reading and movie lists, I've worked hard to find some good books and movies.  And I'm always looking for more so  e-mail me if you have any suggestions.

A little more about myself:
I grew up in St. Louis, MO.  For eight summers I attended Camp Kamaji in Northern Minnesota.  In the spring of 1997 I attended Alexander Muss High School in Israel. I spent two and a half months in Hod HaSharon, ISRAEL, studying 4000 years of Israeli history.  In the future I hope to someday make aliyah to Israel.
Ok, now for the "gay stuff"
I came out of the closet the spring of my senior year.  Coming out was really difficult for me because I didn't know ANYONE.  Of what I know I was the only one of my graduating class of about 350 who was openly gay.  Obviously, chances are there were probably more, but I didn't know anyone.  It took me another month to find out that I actually had a gay friend.
For the first time in 2.5 years I am single again, and loving it.  I didn't expect all the drama that dating entails, I'm not quite fond of the drama aspect but I think everyone says that.  If you want to see what I look like check out the next page.  It's a picture of me and my most recent ex. Breck.
Besides reading lesbian novels I'm also researching religion and homosexuality.  If you would like to find out more about religion and homosexuality click here.
