Project Title: |
|
An application for promoting jewellery business on the web: an interactive multimedia model for selling 'unpopular' goods. |
Description: |
New multimedia technologies allow us to experiment with creating models of software which can replace traditional methods for selling/purchasing products. Such on line software has been developed to replace e.g. the traditional bookshops, audio CD and DVD physical retailers. By using a mixture of various technologies, such as object oriented scripts, mechanisms for marking up data, media editing tools are only a few which make web businesses to function interactively. Such system models have been adopted by various on line businesses including amazon.com, and bookshop.co.uk, which mainly sell books, CDs and electronic products and have been very successful. So far the internet can only dominate those types of industries where the consumer does not need to feel or taste the product.
