Unfortunately, everything comes tumbling down. Darwin's father is a captain in the Air Force and has been restationed in Europe. He and Darwin's mother both think that he needs to get away from Willy so they force him to go. Neither begging nor pleading will convince them otherwise. And so, sadly, the lovers depart... But not before, making a vow that they would find each other again. After Darwin has left Willy is thrust into a deep depression. He refuses to come out of his room, refuses to eat, and stays in bed all day, thinking of Darwin. Unfortunately, this draws the attention of willy's father, Sam, who decides it's time for his son to start acting like a man. Willy and his father fight constantly over the next few days, and finally, Willy tells his father he's gay. Sam explodes, but Willy doesn't care. He's had enough of his father's harassment. He decides to move out. Wanda doesn't want him to go but she knows that taking Willy's side would mean the end of her marriage and she isn't sure she's ready for that, and so she sadly let's her son go...
