There were twenty participants: 13 motorcycles, three passengers, two driving the "chase" truck, and two driving a followup car. The ride to Redding California was in two groups with Pegasus Shasta Ride Captain Larry leading #1 and Cal Eagles' Road Captain Morris leading #2. Lunch was at The Olive Pit in Corning California after rest stop snack of Larry's homemade cookies. After check in at the motel, the group had a very nice tour of Shasta Dam. Then most of us had dinner at Chevy's Restaurant and some took in the local Redding gay bar, "The 501".
Sunday AM we got our "Shasta Tour" T-shirts and then had a cool then wet day riding. We stopped for a picnic lunch at Burney Falls. It was a beautiful ride but Mts. Shasta and Lassen were covered by clouds. On returning, we had time for a two hour rest. Then we had a very nice Club dinner in Redding at the Hatch Cover Restaurant overlooking the Sacramento River. It rained heavily all night.
Monday was beautiful, bright and sunny for the ride home, and we got the ride started at about 10am. A somewhat better lunch was served at Bill's and Kathy's at Dunningen. Finally, we bid farewell to each other at the gas/rest stop in Redtop on I-80 before riding home.
Thanks go to Larry for planning and leading a very nice and scenic 703 mile Shasta Tour.
