Please go to http://home.insightbb.com/~sammy56/new.html
in place of this page. I am going to keep this site as a mirror site
for now, but Yahoo/Geocities has such restrictive bandwidth limits now,
it makes the pages unavailable before one person can get through them.
I hope Insightbb.com will be better. I did have to reduce the KCS
Folio 43 file sizes to have enough disk space on InsightBB.com. So
if you are looking for a bit clearer picture, you might look here.
This is a picture of the Norfolk Southern employee Christmas train that ran from Decatur, IL west to Niantic, IL on 1.5 hour schedules for two days. This picture was taken by what was WABIC Tower (Wabash crosed the IC) about 1:00PM Saturday December 13, 1997. The old Wabash Depot is behind me. The tower still stands, but hasn't been manned for years. This diamond is now only 2 NS tracks crossing 1 IC track. Back when I was a kid, it was like 5 or 6 WAB tracks crosing 3 IC tracks.
The first car is a old Canadian National Steam Generator Car,the second was a ex-IC heavy weight coach. There was another coach of unknown orgin as well as a NS Operation Lifesaver Locomotive number 4640. The equipment other than the NS locomotive is kept at the Monticello Railway Museum, in Monticello, IL.
