This was E-mailed to me and to tell you the truth it almost made me cry when I read it.
He was but a man
He did not see
The truth in the risks
He bought into immortality
On his way to fame and fortune
Riding on a star
He touched all that glittered
And could've gone so far
Life was one big party
You only live once they say
But to shorten one's own life
Is a hell of a price to pay
For one night of passion
He traded his most precious possession
And then reality struck him
He heard the confession
She looked so safe
He had been so sure
How was he to know
And now there was no cure
Some say it was deserved
You have to pay to play
But they'll never know the cost
Until they watch someone die that way
To see someone reduced to near nothing
And watch each strength disappear
No hope for tomorrow
Just living with the fear
When the end is near
And they no longer remember your name
They beg for someone to help them
To please end the pain
Would you still believe in just rewards
And feel no pity for your fellow man
Might you feel differently
If you were able to understand
This disease is not fair
It touches everyone
No soul deserves such misery
No matter what they've done
