Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Woke up downstairs on the sofabed. Lainie flaked out long before anyone else last night so I put her in my bed so she didn't have to try and sleep in the middle of the all-night carry on. I didn't really want to get up at all, at least not until it was maybe starting to get dark again but I had a WIT meeting to go to and all the horses and fire and getting dressed and drinking coffee to do first.
It was still very frosty outside at 1.45 pm when I left for the meeting despite the sun blazing down and very cold indeed, bracing even. The meeting started late and finished late as usual and we had still only got half way through the agenda and will have to go back again in two weeks. I really wanted a sleep by the end of that meeting but I had to wake up and drive home on the frosty roads.
The main roads were gritted but the smaller roads were all sparkly white with sheets of frozen ice tucked around bends and in the shadows of trees and anyplace you might not see them. I was glad to get home and get my dinner out of the raeburn and then collapse in front of the fire for a while. Then I remembered that I had undertaken to write a letter to the local newspaper which has been covering the story about WIT and the homophobic wine bar and the letter has to be there by 8.00 am tomorrow, which meant doing it tonight. I'm not sure I was really in a fit state to be doing that by then but, well, I've done it now and faxed it in so there's not much I can do about it if I change my mind.
