Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

I managed 9.30 am this morning, all by myself. It was quite warm but I wanted to light the fire anyway because I was supposed to be having a massage later and I wanted the room warm. I never did get the massage but that's another story. I got it going really fast then made a quick fruit and yoghurt drink before I went out to feed the horses. Then I was off on a couple of missions including buying a fencing maul and more staples and I saw David while I was out there driving round the back lanes and he said he was coming over to fix the water in Irene's caravan - at last.
It was time for lunch when I got home and I had some new books arrive in the post which is always exciting and I sat and read the first chapters of a couple of them. Then I went off to find Ceredigion County Cookers where there was a raeburn for sale. The sun was shining and although it wasn't especially warm outside it was hot in the car and I had a lovely drive over there and found the place no problem. When I got there the model I'd gone to look at was fine but the pipe was on the wrong side. He did have several others though and eventually we found what might be the perfect one, a Royal with a wraparound boiler which would run all the heating and hot water, has the pipe on the correct side and costs a lot less than the one I went to see. Now I just need to sort out having it fitted and get the money together. I drove back via town to pick up my laundry and see if Downhome Stoves was open so I could talk about fitting but it's Wednesday and the shop was closed.
I had a little snooze when I got back and read some more. Irene and Lorna had both gone out so I had a quiet evening and watched a bit of tv and did some work on the computer. I'm waiting to have a bath now, there's a burst water main somewhere and the water won't be back on till 12.30 am. Funny that, David never did show up to fix that pipe in the caravan.
