I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
I had to do my own wheelbarrowing today and I wasn't all that pleased with how much it still hurt but at least it's not all that far I have to go and the wheelbarrow's empty on the way back. I moved some old fenceposts that Lorna had thrown down from the field and stood them up against the barn and sawed one of them up to chop into kindling. Soon after that everyone went out and I put Alanis Morrisette on the stereo nice and loud and set to a bit of tidying. I had to do two sinkfulls of dishes and clear up lots of heaps in the sitting room to make way for life drawing later in the day. |
I'd finished the tidying and had started to work some more on the poster for the next WIT event when Clare popped round wanting to print out a letter. I was waiting for a poster to print then so we went up to the field and gave the horses a quick brushing while they were munching on the hay. We got the letter done and Clare rushed off to work on her video for a few hours and I carried on producing versions of the poster and still not achieving anything I liked at all. I gave up in the end and went off for a nice bath and then went out with Lorna and her chainsaw and got all the fenceposts cut up and stacked in the barn. |
Petra arrived as we were all having a coffee and everyone looked at the posters and had a think about it and then we got on the computer and tried a few different things before finally starting to work on the leaflet Petra had actually come round to do. She wanted to do her CV as well but after a while I'd had what I thought was enough of the computer and just wanted to have a sit down with a cup of tea before everyone arrived for life drawing. I didn't get to do that though because Lauren came through needing a coloured picture to make a folder for her homework and so that was swiftly achieved by colouring in a picture I'd already scanned for her last week. Hanna had arrived by then and Clare was being as late as I'd thought she might given what she'd told me earlier about all that she had to do. We were all on the point of feeling unlike drawing by then and somehow ended up doing a shoulder massage exchange instead. It had gotten late by then and after Clare had a bath they all left and I had one more go at the poster based on a sketch layout Petra had done while I was doing Lauren's homework and then it was bedtime. |
