Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Most of the snow has melted now but the bottom end of the garden where we are preparing plots for the vegetables was still covered. That didn't mean we couldn't do it all but it would have been a bit of a nuisance having all that snow there so I had the idea to go off to the garden centre instead. It was kind of late by the time I got up and did everything and even said this idea. It was a lot later by the time we set off. We were combining this trip with taking Irene's car over to be seen to and that also involved going to town first to get some oil and a filter and we also stopped to buy pasties and crisps and diesel. By the time we got Irene's car dropped off it was 4.30 pm and we all got into my car and headed off to a nearby garden centre, well, that's what we though it was, actually it was more of a nursery and there was no-one there. We had a look around anyway and explored all the pollytunnels but we couldn't buy anything because there was no-one there to pay.
We went back then to wait for Irene's car and all squashed into Serena and Pete's caravan and sat on the bed drinking tea while the car got fixed. When it was done and we were ready to leave I asked Pete to look under the bonnet to see whether he could spot where I had pulled the wire out from when I had been looking for the strap that holds the jack in place. I'd looked loads in the afternoon before we set out but I'd failed totally to see anywhere it could connect to. Pete spotted it straight away and even got under the car in the mud and plugged it back it. Seems it was the warning light which would have registered if the oil in the power steering pump was getting low so it hadn't been anything critical but I was glad to have it plugged back in.
Back home I tended to my fire and lit the woodstove in the other sitting room while Irene was doing dinner and then lay still while Lauren drew me. After dinner we watched Parkinson and then I had one final attempt at the poster for the WIT event. I'm taking it round to Hanna tomorrow and so I can let her decide which of the many versions to use and then it will be out of my hand for good.
