Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Very nasty drizzly wet day outside. A good day for staying indoors actually. But I'd used up the last of my kindling getting the fire going and I had to get out there and saw up a slimey wet plank for chopping.
Lisa was supposed to be round at middayish so that we could shift her beams out of the barn but she wasn't showing any signs of arriving and I was upstairs with Lorna and Marina looking at the tv arial problem and realising that the soldering iron was never going to get hot enough to melt solder when she did arrive. Much coffee and fags later we got the trailer hitched up, loaded the beams and set off with a stop along the way to borrow a soldering iron from Hanna. We delivered the beams to Lisa's land, unloaded them and stashed them with silage plastic on top. There followed a lesson for Lisa in reversing a trailer out of a gateway and it had all got quite late by this stage and we had to stop off and collect her kids on the way back. They were determined to ride in the trailer and did get to do so along the lane but were into the car on the proper roads. We stopped off on the way to rent some videos and then headed for home and unhitched the trailer again.
There was still time before dinner to fix up the tv arials and we got them done (well, Marina got them done actually) just in time to record a program about wolves. After dinner and some further attempts to get Lauren's playstation working we watched The Handmaid's Tale. I shouldn't really watch films after reading the book, it's always a bit of a disappointment.
