I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
I was actually up and out the door by about 9.30 am. I met up with Heather in Carmarthen at the venue for the meeting we were attending. I hadn't really been sure what we going to but it turned out to be a lot of organisations, mainly charities who use a lot of organised volunteers in their work and this was the first meeting of a West Wales volunteering forum. It was kind of interesting but we weren't all that sure how relevant it might be to what we do with WIT. |
After the meeting Heather had some drums to collect from Arts Care in St. David's Hospital so we went up there and had some lunch in their canteen. It was late afternoon by the time I got back to Lampeter and stopped off to go to the health food shop and stock up on herbal teas and nuts and seeds and stuff like that. I got home and talked to Jaques for a while before Lauren came home from school. Lauren wanted to go and visit her friends in the village and no-one else with a car was in so I said I'd take her down there. By the time I'd done that it was time to cook dinner and eat before picking Lauren up again. Heather had managed to get herself a modem for £20 but the floppy disk with the software on it got knackered up so I went looking on the Global Village website for the drivers for this modem and couldn't come up with anything then had a lengthy conversation with Heather about it all and about her database, trying to tell her how to use software that I don't have installed on my machine and only ever looked at once but I think her problem got sorted out. I rang off then because Germaine Greer was supposed to be on the tv but then I'd forgotten about BBC Wales variations and figured it wouldn't be on till later. I had a bath in the meantime but she still never came on. That was annoying so I watched some other crap for a while and now its bedtime. |
