Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.


I don't know why I persist in thinking of them as "morning chores" because it's invariably well after lunchtime when I get done, or even get started some days, but today's morning chores went on a while. The fire was dead and very unwilling to get going, I got to the throw the whole candle in stage before it finally went up. The horses were totally on my case and the rubbish had to go out and I think I must have missed it last week. Anyway after all that I went off into town, resisted egg and chips at the New Bridge Cafe and just got the shopping done.
Back home I got round to answering some outstanding e-mail and phone calls and even went so far as to get the hoover out. Well, I had to really, twice yesterday I bumped the ashes tray out of the fire on the door on my way outside and there was lots of ash and clinker all around the door which made crunchy noises when you walked through it. Clare arrived just as I getting into hoovering and went off to see the horses and measure up for a gate she's going to make.

Clare came back after I'd done the hoovering and got myself so hot I'd taken a lot of clothes off and turned off the central heating and we had a cup of tea before it was time for me to go and cook dinner. That took a long time, I put things on to cook in the wrong order and the white sauce went lumpy and had to be rescued at great length but it did turn into a nice meal. Afterwards Irene and Lorna went out for a while and I began to do some serious work on WitWeb, which is looking very faded and out of date. Partly this has been due to a problem I've had with ftp which has now been resolved thanks to the one competent tech support person at Abel Internet. Then they came back and now I've stayed up too late again and tomorrow I have to get up and go to Swansea.
