I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Set off for Aberystwyth with Hansi who had won a bet with me last night meaning that I had to buy her a pair of jeans. I wasn't going to Aberystwyth just for that though I did actually have to go shopping for various Mother items. I'm so bad at shopping, unless I know exactly what I want and it is a powertool I just wander from shop to shop in a bit of a daze. I had given Hansi an hour to find a pair of jeans while I did my shopping and had something to eat. At the end of the hour I had bought almost nothing and not even been anywhere near food. Hansi had found jeans in ten minutes. After we bought the jeans we went to the treehouse and had a big lunch. After that I bribed her to amuse herself for another hour while I wandered aimlessly from shop to shop for a bit longer. I also went and ordered another sucker brush for scrubbing potatoes, it will take a week but at least I won't have to keep asking everyone else to scrub the potatoes for me. We do eat a lot of potatoes. By the time I had been to the supermarket as well Hansi was complaining that she just wanted to visit Aberystwyth, not move there. So I resisted the temptation to buy a load of potting compost.

When we got back home Clare was in the field doing something, I'm not quite sure what, with Nelly but I had to go and make the dinner. Yes, we did have potatoes and Irene cleaned them for me.

I'm going off to Oxford tomorrow to meet my Mother at my Sister's house so no entry tomorrow.
