Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

I first woke up when I heard a message coming through the answering machine, but by the time I'd realised that it was Tatiana calling from Australia she had rung off. I went back to sleep then which I shouldn't really have done because I was supposed to be phoning the plumber and the raeburn man 'first thing'. After I did get up and relit the fire, again, I tried all these numbers. The plumber had gone and wouldn't be back to lunchtime, raeburn guy was out as well and I did eventually get through to Australia and spoke to Tat who said she'd call back when Clary got in from work.
So I was hanging about for all these return calls and trying to get things a bit tidied up in that pre-menstrual frenzied way that may or may not achieve anything at all. Clary phoned first and spent over half an hour talking first to me and then to Lorna and catching up on things from the other side of the world. I managed to get hold of the plumber who said my tank was perfectly ok with the ballcock tied up and he'd come and sort it out at the weekend or next week sometime. I chose to just trust him on that one since I don't have a clue what is going on in that attic. I managed to get hold of raeburn guy as well and persuaded him to send someone out to look at the old one. After that I went off into town to get all the stuff posted that I missed doing on Saturday because I got to the post office too late and to get my car tax and some shoelaces because mine had too many knots in and were no longer sensible shoelaces. I was meant to be doing brunch today but it was way too late for that so I got some cream cakes and had afternoon tea with Lorna when I got back. The blokey arrived to look at the raeburn after that and confirmed that it was well and truly past its sell by date and was in fact probably 65-70 years old and not designed to run radiators anyway.
I spent some time then working on my homepages, fed up with the background and divider bar and various other stylistic issues so I'll be uploading that soon. I also managed to get the new files uploaded to the WitWeb, which is fantastic because I've been struggling with that one for some time now. Then Hansi arrived to do a poster which is for a competition and seems to be all about her school uniform, in french. We scanned her school shirt and a tie she had borrowed from one of the boys and made a poster out of it. Dinner arrived in the middle of that and we stopped to eat and then finished it off afterwards. Then Lauren came in with her homework, a story to type out and four pictures to scan and drop in and we were doing that right up to her bedtime. Once she'd gone off to bed the rest of us played scrabble until it was time to watch the Witches of Eastwick on the tv. It was late by then and no-one wanted to walk but the moon was out and bright and the grass was crispy with frost so I walked up the field and spoke with the horses for a while, they were very soft and friendly and nuzzly.
