my

Bluehooks Diary

I started doing this diary in June, it's quite new. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Tuesday 21st July

Not a very eventfull day. Sianimo called round in the morning with a copy of an article she had found about a bitless bridle which is supposed to be kinder to the horse. However, since it was in the New Scientist, rather than some horse magazine, there's no way of finding out about where to get hold of one apart from a brief mention of a company called American Spirit. I'd be ever so interested to hear from anyone who has ever seen one or knows where they can be purchased.

Went to see the bank manager, who says the credit card will be here in about ten days, which is plenty soon enough. I'm actually not looking forward to having one all that much, it's going to be a huge temptation, especially for buying books online. However this could have an interesting twist to it, perhaps if I spend some money on books, I will then spend more time reading books and less time on the internet and therefore save some money. Yes, I like that idea.

Clare came round later in the evening and we watched the rough edit she has done of the film. The transfer to VHS is causing a lot of quality problems, but that aside the film is looking fantastic. I can really understand her choice of location now, even though it was hell to film there sometimes, it does look quite stunning. I am also amazed at how androgenous I look. We spent some time recording the butler's voiceover, which was somehow easier to do when I could see the picture at the same time and means that the timing will be better. Loey came in after that bearing two gas regulators, one of which happened to be an appropriate one. She is using the small barn on the end of the house as a space to hang out in and needs some heat and a bit of carpet in there. Loey has a tent in the garden and it's so wet at the moment that she needs somewhere dry to hang out in during the day. I'm losing track of how many there are of us here...a quick head count (including animals) suggests 14 tonight. I'm actually surprised at how quiet it is considering.
