Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Usual Tuesday morning trip into town except that I ran into Jax in the health food shop and arranged to pick her up from Shirley's house an hour later for a lift home. I'd finished shopping by then really but managed to kill the hour by buying some books and then going into Hags and browsing the cds. I managed to find five that I wanted to buy and then chose a couple of videos. By the time I'd done that and visited the deli in the back of the newsagents it was time to get Jax. Round at Shirley's there was a very large fish in the sitting room which Shirley was in the middle of painting with fluorescent paints. (No, not a real fish, that would be cruel).
I wasn't long back home when Tim phoned and said he'd come over to explain the next part of the job which was great because I didn't feel like going out again. While I was waiting for him I went out to the barn and starting cutting blocks to make a replacement temporary gate to the orchard because Princess was in there yesterday while Nelly was out and she very nearly had it barged through. I didn't actually get it finished before Tim arrived along with his youngest boy, Bohdi but at least I remembered to put the drill away. I made us a cup of tea and we were about to sit down and discuss it when David arrived. We had a brief talk about the pond and drainage channels that are going to be happening in the field and he reckons this is the best time of year to do it, not too wet, not too dry so I said he might as well get on with it then. It'll be great to have a pond, and it'll be nice for tractors to be able to drive into the field as well without getting stuck in the bog. So then it was back to Tim and a lengthy and confusing discussion about what needed to be done. By the time he left I was vaguely sure about what I had to do but needed to wait on a phone call from Dave.
In the meantime everyone else was back from wherever they had been and the sun was shining and it seemed like there was a general good time mood going on. I'd vaguely promised Jax a lift up to see her friend for a while and we were both going to cook dinner so we went off to do that before it got too late and stayed out for a while doing the social thing. We were very late with the dinner but it didn't matter because Lorna and Irene had gone out socialising as well so they were late anyway. Dave did phone in the middle of the cooking and I got a completely different idea about what was to be done and although I understood it better I decided to leave it till the morning when I was fresh (ha ha). Well, one thing led to another and we ended up having a bit of a night of it. I knew I was being really silly staying up till nearly 4.00 am when I had to get up and be sensible in the morning but I just couldn't help myself. I was having a nice time.
