Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Another way early morning, although I'm getting a bit better at it and didn't have to lie in bed for half an hour after the alarm had gone off but was up in time to have a shower before breakfast. There wasn't a lot of time as the exhibition opened at 9.00 am and the morning was spent hanging around the stand again and doing another rehearsal for the show in order to fit in an extra scene with the grypher as well as the sensor hand and the show at lunchtime went better than the one the evening before. We were sent a packed lunch round to the stand but I really didn't like the look of it and slipped out for an hour to a cafe where I was served a plate of egg and chips that were so bad I wished I had eaten the packed lunch by a man who called me luvvie in a way which made it all worthwhile. Back to the stand for the rest of the afternoon and I was very glad when it closed up for the night.
There was just enough time to get myself a bath and get dressed for the gala dinner which was a fancy dress affair with a 70s theme. I felt silly until I saw everyone else. It seemed like half the hotel was walking around in 70s costume and the interpretation of the theme was very liberal. The dinner was being held in another hotel just round the corner and there was a steady procession of ludicrously dressed people walking up there. The first hour or so was spent drinking cocktails, a deceptive malibu thing which was circulating by the jugfull and being consumed in large quantities. Then it as on to a five course dinner with bottles of wine and beers and full silver service. When the disco started I felt able to leave and return to the relative sanity of my hotel room. I was ready for sleep that night.
