my

Bluehooks Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Friday 2nd October

I can't make up my mind if I got lots done today or not much at all. I know I started very late in the day because I was still awake at 6.00am and several times thereafter including a solid hour of listening to the dog barking his head off. So it was nearly midday by the time I withdrew from the bed.

After my usual morning potterings I headed off to Aberystwyth. I realised just now that the only reason I ever go to Aberystwyth is to spend money or go to the hospital. Same goes for Carmarthen and Swansea actually. Today was a spending money day. I started off in the big carpet shop and bought an offcut which is big enough to do the bathroom where the tank has been leaking and where the old carpet is now well stinky mouldy and horrible and to do another small room somewhere else. I priced up carpet for the raeburn room as well but got a tip off from the manger to come back in a few days time when there would be a lot of end of roll because new stock was coming in. Then on to the DIY shop for emulsion, gloss and undercoat and decorating sundries. The raeburn room is going to get a major overhaul soon. It's on the list. I also picked up a pair of curtains I had ordered the week before and a new garden fork. I was hungy by then but a bit bored of the menu at the Treehouse so I bought a pastie and sat by the sea to eat it. The pigeons and gulls were totally in my face the whole time, they even got excited when I opened my tobacco tin.

I put up the new curtains when I got home and it is a great relief to me to have plain blue curtains in my bedroom rather than those chintzy green and beige and brown ones. I heard tigger yapping his head off just as I was finished doing that and went to investigate although it was only Irene returning home with Jane and her two dogs. There was a fair bit of animal commotion between dogs and cats then and they were all seperated so that we could have a cup of tea in peace. The kitten was on my shoulder, draped across the back of neck like a little hot scarf, she's so tiny still but so very bold. She just mountaineers right up your body to wherever she wants to go and attacks whatever she wants to attack on the way. All three cats seems to be all over me today. Tom had been rolling around the bedroom floor purring like a demented thing while I was doing the curtains and later when I was trying to use the computer he was so in my face and on my keyboard that he had to go outside. Right now I have Kitty asleep in my lap and actally I really need to move around but she's so asleep it seems cruel.
