I started doing this diary in June, it's quite new. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
Thought I'd adjusted to Britsh (so called) Summer Time but since I was still awake at 7.00am I probably haven't quite. So I half-slept until 12.30pm then got up because Lorna was talking to me about something. Clare was out in the field lunging Nelly. At this point the weather was looking fairly good. After a bath I headed out to collect the laundry and do some post office stuff in town.
WIT have had the programme made up and it looks ok. Could have been better if I'd had a bit more time to do it, but it will do. The camp... which is now calling itself a festival is starting tommorow. Not sure how much I'll get a chance to post while its on. I'm intending to come back every day to check on the horses (it's only about 4 miles away), so maybe I'll have time to do it... then again maybe not.
On the way back from town it started to really really rain. That stairod stuff again. This was distresing on two counts, first that the hay is getting wet... again, and second that Lorna was free that afternoon to sort out the fences a bit. The idea was to try and get them done before the camp (festival?) start so that if the hay gets baled then the horses can get out into the field for a while. Anyway... you try weilding a sledgehammer in the rain... those things get sliperry. It did sort of stop raining eventually and we managed to do a certain amount of the work.... enough that we can get by without having to feed them extras, especially since WIT camp has borrowed the wheelbarrow.
By then it was time to do a music rehearsal. I only found out about this late last night but I might have guessed really. Anyway we all went over to Helen's shed to practice. Seems like there's plenty musicians and everybody know vaguely what they are doing... except me, but then I never really do. I found it almost impossible to make any sort of music noises tonight and we are meant to be playing a live wave tommorow.... for 100 women..... hahahaha. I'm just alowing for the possibility of having "an off night". Tomorrow I will miraculously be able to play my saucepan again. Rehearsal ended about 10.00pm and the four of us that live here plus Clare came back home....hungry. So while Clare was in the bath and Loey in the shower I was making a pile of sandwiches and the never-ending soup pot was on in the other kitchen. And what with one thing and another it's now nearly 1.00am, and I realy wanted to be in bed by midnight tonight.... and the joke is I actually thought I could do it as well.
