I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
I went of to Tregaron this morning (well, lunchtime) to see Mavis at the NFU about the car insurance. It took an abominably long time but she was very friendly and let me use their toilet. At one point she said ".... and obviously you've got no disabilities", I could have chosen to remain silent there but I had to assume that at some point she would notice that I had what she then decided to call an "artificial arm" so I held it up for her to see, I find it quite amazing when people don't notice it, I'm always assuming that I'm being stared at and if I'm not being stared at it's because I'm being NOT stared at. Anyway, she then had to check up with HQ whether that made any difference, which it didn't and that was just as well because I'd have got all riled up if it had. When that was all taken care of I went down the Spar and bought cakes for tea and then over to the famer's co-op where I got three pieces of 8 x 5 metres of heavy gauge silage wrap for the garden. |
After a bit of tinkering about on the computer I found Lorna and harassed her about giving me a haircut, which, after a cake and some coffee, she did. First I said just cut the back and sides and leave it as it is on top and then I said cut a bit shorter and then it wasn't quite symmetrical, but somehow I ended up with a no. 0 haircut with a few inches wide strip down the middle. It wasn't what I had in mind at the outset but I'm prepared to go with that one for a while. Even though I look like Bart Simpson. |
After dinner we got the games out again and played anagram and another word game and then had a walk with the dogs before bed. |
This is a sort of an anniversary for me. On 3rd February 1992 I went into the hospital for what was supposed to be a diagnostic procedure. That was led to my hand being amputated four and a half years later. Sometimes I drink champagne on this day, sometimes I just let it go. I let it go this year. |
