I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
I relish the peace in the morning when everyone else is away. It's lovely, even when the fire has choked out and is full of unburnt coal and has to be raked out and relit, I don't care, at least it's quiet. I couldn't relish it too long though as I had to get on with things, starting with feeding animals, putting out the rubbish and fetching the post then onto the agenda for the WIT meeting and then get all those along with the minutes into the post or e-mail. |
I posted that lot off on the way to Aberystwyth. I decided to go get myself a television, and maybe even a video, depending on how much it cost. I didn't realise you could get both in the same unit and it was much cheaper than getting them seperate. I was well pleased with that and even coughed up the extra for the three year guarantee. I could almost have lingered on in Aberystwyth but I wanted to get back and get the raeburn lit so the place was warm when everyone came back. There was a message from Lorna when I got back to say that her alternator had gone somewhere outside of Bristol and she had no way of contacting Irene and Hansi who were waiting for her in Bristol. I got hold of Sophie's number and phoned her but Irene and Hansi were not with her, they were apparently waiting somewhere in the centre of Bristol for Lorna and not contactable. There wasn't a lot more I could do then so I just lit the raeburn anyway and luckily it went up nicely and then I took the ludicrous puppy dog out for a walk, it was dark by then but nowhere near as dark as yesterday, nor so cold. |
After that I was able to play with the new tv and get it tuned in, to all three and a half channels, and get all the timing and security and stuff set up. I didn't have any videos to watch but I did watch the tv a bit until the choice I was left with was the News, some sex and violence thing, Morecombe and Wise or something in Welsh. I turned it off then and played on the computer until it was bath time. |
