Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Managed to struggle out of bed at 9.30 am. The fire was still in, it never stays in unless I actually don't want it to, which I didn't today. I wanted it to be out so I could clear it and lay a new fire ready to light tomorrow, but there you go, it was still alight. I fed the horses, loaded up the car, polished my clean boots and got everything like that seen to then Loey phoned to say she was on her way over, walking from the caravan site so I set off fairly soon after that to pick her up and we got on the way to Swansea.
Down at the artificial limb centre there was a new socket waiting for which seemed to be a really good fit, quite a push to get on but not so tight that I needed talcum powder. I also met the man from OttoBock who got me connected up to the computer to measure the signals that I was putting out and messed about with my sensor threshold levels trying to get the exact signal that he wanted and ended up with it set exactly where I had it set before. I had a go on the new hand which they have brought out, it's supposed to be very clever because there's a sensor in the thumb which can detect if an object held in the hand is slipping and adjust the grip accordingly. I wasn't all that impressed actually, he seemed to be having trouble finding just the right object to demonstrate with. We also talked about the conference in Harrogate where he wants me to go and demonstrate this new device.
When all that was over Loey and I set off for the Gower and arrived at Darlene house to find her car and Petra's car there but no sign of them and assumed they had gone out for a walk. So I took Loey round to where she was going to be staying and she put her tent up in the garden. After a while Pixie turned up and she gave my sideburns and the back of my neck a shave and by then Darlene and Petra turned up so we went round to Darlene's and unloaded my car and then unloaded Heather's when she arrived. Then dinner got made and we all got changed into party gear and went off to the hall where the party was going to be to set up.
We were still setting up as women started to arrive for the party and they were quickly given balloons to blow up and suchlike party tasks. At one point I went off with Darlene to get more candles and by the time we got back several more carloads of women had arrived and there was a line of women standing outside the door smoking. Well it was full scale party mode from then on until some small hour in the morning. I managed to avoid most of the clearing up at the end by going out to help change a flat tyre but the car still had to be loaded up again before we could all go and it was 4.00 am by the time we all got into bed.
