I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

     

Woke up feeling fairly better apart from having the shits now. I used up the last of the hay yesterday so once it seemed safe to leave the vicinity of the toilet I went down to Cwm farmto see Jean and picked up six bales in the car. It was quite a strain and my stomach hurt on the way home but I got it unloaded and took some up to the horses. I could easily have gone to lie down then but though I could also keep going if I really wanted to so I went into town via Ffarmers to see if the people I bought the lawnmower from were in because they had rung to say I didn't get the instruction manual with it. They weren't in, but that serves me right for not phoning first, which I would have done if I hadn't just had the number on the back of a receipt which has now flown away somewhere. Got stuff done in town and the weather was turning horrid and wet and grey so I came home and lit the fire.

Because it was raining and because no-one else was around, it was a perfect afternoon for getting work done on the computer, which I did well into the evening with a little interlude where I made that fatal mistake of lying down in front of the fire. Again it was Tracy Chapman, different album but there I was asleep on the floor in the afternoon again. But so what, I still got a lot of work done and then I had treated myself to a video of Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, followed by a small bit of dinner and then I set to the task of catching up with a week's worth of diary entries. And phew, it's good to get that finished, I wish I hadn't left it so long.
