Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Well, I didn't do as well as yesterday, I only managed to get up at 10.30 am but I was awake ever so late last night, mainly because I was hungry and had to get up and eat a big bowlful of yoghurt with nuts and dried fruit in it before I could go to sleep. I decided not to light the fire straight away because the sun was shining and it wasn't all that cold and that saved me a bit of time.

The horses got fed and then I put out he rubbish bags and sorted out a pile of laundry to take to town, planted a tray of chives and cleared the kitchen up. It was only 12.30 pm by then but, remarkably, I was already hungry for lunch so I made myself a playful of salad. I went off into town, did the organics (again - I'm spending a lot of time in that shop at the moment), laundry, went looking for a certain type of sledgehammer, which wasn't in stock, did the bank, the healthfood shop and also went into Downhome Stoves to see if any raeburns had turned up. He didn't have any but we talked a bit and I said it was getting so desperate that I was considering buying a new one at which point he remembered that Ceredigion County Cookers might have something which would work, at about half the price of a new one but more than double what I'd originally told him I wanted to fork out. That was business done in town and then I came home to light the fire. I called up Ceredigion County Cookers and they still had the raeburn for sale so I said I was very interested and hopefully I can go and see it tomorrow. In the meantime the old raeburn had collapsed again and needed treatment with fire cement to get it to work at all so I helped Lorna to do that and she managed to get it to hold together - for a little while anyway, and lit it up.

It was getting near to time to go and cook dinner, this is the last day I'm on the high raw food diet and so tonight I get to eat some brown rice with my stir fried vegetables so I'm coming back into the communal dinner rota which has been suspended for a week. Clare arrived to have a bath and I haven't seen her for ages so we had a cup of tea and talked a bit and went up to see the horses before I cooked and she went off for her bath. Clare ate with us and then later got out a digital video camera she has on loan from college and we all had a go on it. Very sexy toy, I like them a lot, pity I can't actually hold it properly, I would have to use a tripod, no way around it, not with that model anyway. Tomorrow looks like a busy sort of a day, though, hopefully I should get a massage at some point. And I could use a massage.
