Support the Suffolk County, NY SPCA

	The Suffolk County, NY SPCA is working at ground zero in New York taking care of rescue dogs. Each rescue dog is required to come back to the mobile unit for a rest, and is given a bath, IV, food and drink, eye cleansing, any veterinarian assistance necessary, and protection for their paws from the fire and glass debris. The SPCA is also rescuing pets of people who were forced to leave there homes in the restricted area around the World Trade Centers who have been without food and water. Please support them!

Old Dusty House

Hello welcome to this old dusty homepage of mine. Watch out for cob webs, as I haven’t updated in a while. I guess it’s about time to get the broom out and fly past the moon with it, er um I mean clean. I have done a really terrible job of keeping up with emails. If you have emailed me and gotten no response: Sorry, and Thanx. If anybody wants to email me, please do, but you may not get a response, as I do not check that email very often, and I apologize in advance.

I am Superdyke. I am 21 years old, soon to be 22. I am a lesbian. I am single. I am a vegetarian. I have been a vegetarian for 6 years as of March 2001. I attend Des Moines Area Community College in Iowa. My major is Business Administration with computer specialization. I intend to go to a college in Maryland that offers a bachelors degree in Software and Internet Applications. The town that this college is in is right between D.C. and Baltimore. I have been to D.C. twice, and enjoyed it there. Some of my other interests include forensic science. I hope my career includes a forensic science oriented job, particularly forensic computer science.

I enjoy community service. I am a former member of Feminist Corps (a group for young people). I am also a former member of the Youth Advisory Council of the Young Women’s Resource Center. Over the last few years, I have been very involved with a group called Youth Alliance. Youth Alliance is a group for queer youth in Des Moines. I served as webmaster of Youth Alliance’s web site, and was also the Youth Alliance Liaison to the Gay and Lesbian Resource Center in Des Moines, and served as treasure for a while. I am no longer involved with Youth Alliance, due to the lack of respect I received, on account of my age.

I am pagan. I occasionally go to meetings held by IOWAN (Iowa Organization of Witches And Neopagans). They have monthly discussion meetings as well as occasional parties, and rituals. < promoting favorite small business > The meetings are held at the Atlantean, which is a really neat little place to shop. They sell a variety of pagan oriented merchandise including t-shirts, lots of incense, lots of herbal tea, stones, and jewelry. The Atlantean is a very laid back store. There is lots of herbal tea there, and you can sit down, have a free cup, and chat with Barb (the owner), Bob (her husband), and the other customers. There is also a pop machine, and she sells chips too. So if you live in the Des Moines area, go to the Atlantean! They are located at 315 E 5th St. And if you get lost on the east side of downtown, they also sell stuff at the Court Avenue Farmer’s Market in the summer. < /promoting favorite small business >

I ride the bus A LOT and therefore have gotten into interesting situations and conversations. I first started riding the bus in the fall of 1996. The bus service in Des Moines has gotten a lot better since I started riding it. When I first started riding it the bus only ran till just after 6 p.m. Monday – Saturday. Then on Monday – Friday the buses started running till 8:20 p.m. Now they run till 10:45 p.m. Monday – Friday. They still only run till 6 on Saturdays, and they don’t run at all on Sundays. (And the later it is fewer bus routes are operating). But ‘tis definitely better than they used to be. (And I am glad I live on a route that services a mall!)

My favorite musicians are Melissa Etheridge, the Indigo Girls, Joan Jett, Janis Joplin, K's Choice, Poe, Melissa Ferrick, 7 Year Bitch, Antigone Rising, Stevie Nicks, Shannon Curfman, and Tracy Chapman. Let me know of any (preferably female) musicians that I should expand my musical horizons with. (keep in mind you may not get a response, sorry). Also let me know of places I can find the music inexpensively. I do have mp3 software, but very little hard drive space.

I have been exploring gender lately. I identify as transgendered as well as lesbian. I specifically identify as a boydyke. I am also a Gemini, and by nature I have a dual personality. I am interested in Mental Health. I have suffered from Depression for years. I am relatively stable at the moment. I love animals (sometimes more than humans). I have a dog. She is a black labrador retriever. I think nature is amazingly beautiful. It is truely wonderous how many different animals there are and how they each adapt to thier habitat.

I am interested in politics, and am probably a democratic socialist from what I have read. Specific issues that I am interested in include animal rights, pro-choice, queer rights (LGB AND T), enviroment issues (esp transportation issues), poverty, digital divide, and labor issues. I am anti- death penalty. I am interested in freedom of religion issues. (Christianity is NOT the only religion!)

I put this ribbon on my page after a friend of mine was viewing my webpage at school and was told not to due to its lesbian content. It is this attitude that both encourages hate crimes and results in too many queer youth commiting suicide. The candles are in recognition of all the victims of ignorance and hatred.
