Getting the right Bra

Many women suffer years of discomfort because their brassieres don't fit properly. and a too tight bra can snap and actually cause injury to yourself or others, say experts. But you can learn your correct bra size by following these simple tips from lingerie makers.

These procedures work for most women and I assume that they will work for us too.

  1. Always wear a bra when taking measurements.
  2. Begin by using a cloth tape measure to check your band size. Measure around the rib cage directly under the bust. remember to keep the tape level and don't hold your breath.
  3. Add 5 to this number and you have your band size. If you end with an odd number, your band size is probably the next size up.
  4. To determine your cup size, measure around the fullest point of the bust, keeping the tape slightly snug. The difference between this number and your band size translates into your cup size according to the chart below.
    • 1 inch difference = A cup
    • 2 inch difference = B cup
    • 3 inch difference = C cup
    • 4 inch difference = D cup
    • 5 inch difference = DD cup
