More damn homework; thought I had graduated... but here is "How I spent my summer vacation."
On the lighter side, I must say that the service at the hotel was beyond reproach... and I'm sure the physical facility will be too, given enough time.
Many of us went to Spanky's and I met a T.S. named Brandi who wasn't quite "all the way", but she passed for a g.g. until she spoke. It was an interesting experience, and I learned that 8 years of hormones won't substitute for practice. Don't get me wrong, as much as I practice, I can't order a drink in a bar without just belting out whatever I want. Something about noisy bars does not favor a soft voice... though real girls manage to get drinks. Brandi would be a good speaker for one of our meetings if only she had time between her two full time jobs.
The next evening I left with a couple of girls from Seattle and headed for Greenville Ave. It was "a bit busy", and before we could find a place to park we were headed downtown. This was the perfect excuse to drop in at Reunion Tower, except the line was pretty long, and "they" announced that it would be an hour wait... if you were an optimist! "hey, there's probably a bar in the main hotel, and it was empty and peaceful too.
And so it was for about 15 minutes until the bridge tournament finished and 3,000 people from across the nation met 3 cross dressers from half way across the nation. There were a few long stares from some of the men, but most did not seem to notice. Finally, one lady from Florida came over and said, "I just have to know." Then another from California, etc., and they all said they knew someone else who was a cross dresser. Finally, even a man from Austin came over... we seemed to be well enough accepted; they just wanted to know if we played bridge also!
The valet parking was a wonderful change from the Cedar Springs scene. Suzanne said she was treated well at the Fairmont Hotel the evening before and suggested that most of the "upscale" places would be very gracious to us. While I have dared to venture to the malls on some occasions, perhaps I have limited myself too much to the Cedar Springs scene where I felt... "others do it." I almost started to refer to it as a "safe area", but you know it is not.
Brandi also mentioned safety in the brief time I spoke with her. Places where she went as a man, she "just didn't go." But I guess this is another gender rigid fact for the gender benders.
For me, the T Party was as much a learning experience as a fun experience!
Sincerely,
Jan
