In Loving Memory

Pedro B. Rojas
August 20, 1951-August 31 1996

I first met Pedro in 1982.
He was such a sweet man.
He couldn't speak English very well, Except "How are you?".
We became friends almost immediatly.
He had come over from Cuba on the Mairiel Boat Lift in 1980.
Here is a photo of him when he first arrived in Miami.

Pedro and I started dating, very hard considering I didn't speak Spanish and spoke little English.
We spent most of the time looking words up in my Spanish/English dictionary!
We made a pact to each learn the others language.
And we did!
We we were married on my birthday,
Valentines Day 1983.
