Peanuts (not related to Charlie Brown)

There is more to life than peanuts,

It is unlike any other that I hide,

To them, they do not notice the want,

For it is them that I want and

Not the precious cherries they guard.

The chipmunk approaches but runs,

As he is scared off by those around the nuts

He cannot beguile the peanuts as they soon will know

That the cherries are safe and were never in danger

But the peanuts were what he was after

They fear him and snarl and mame.

The peanuts are more dangerous

Be it in unison or alone.

The shells are strong and the chipmunk has no chance,

He is easily defeated by the planters,

And he, himself, is forever shelled!

Even his friends cannot (will not) save him,

They run or lash out in fear

That they might get implicated,

Oh well, they say that peanuts are no

Longer free in the bars anymore
