Remembrance Day or Is the Battle Lost?

To see you leave,

To hear you're gone,

Is hard to understand.

But now it's time, To let it go,

To stand alone again.

To people you met,

The friends you made,

With you they'll always be.

All their hearts and souls you fill,

Your love we'll always see.

So open your wings and fly,

Let go of all you embrace,

Catch the wind and spread your wings,

Fly over your life and retrace.

You touched us all with happiness,

With your tenderness, love and trust.

And now you bring us sorrow,

And grieve for you we must.

But now it's time to move on,

To let go of what we grasp.

We'll never forget all you gave us,

The sorrow, smiles and love at last.

We'll store all our memories,

In our hearts and souls you'll stay.

We'll cherish all the happy times,

And sorrow on Remembrance Day.

Your flight of yesterday is over,

More tomorrows are on the way.

The pain and sorrow of losing you,

Is with us everyday.

So open your wings and fly,

Let go of all you embrace.

Catch the wind and spread your wings,

Fly over your life and retrace.

You gave us love and friendship,

Tears and laughter all the same.

And on that day in November,

We'll remember you,

Not by memories,

But by name.
