Dean's Dying Friendship

How can it be?

How can it last?

Our love, my friend,

Is fading fast.

The miles are far,

The distance is long.

Living far away,

Is always wrong.

Close together

Or far apart,

I wish you could stay,

And never depart.

Come home, my friend,

To where you belong.

Come home, my friend,

And never be gone.

Stay with me

And make me strong,

With me, my friend,

Is where you belong.

Don't Ask Why.

How can I describe to you?

how very much you mean.

What words can fill my memories,

Of everything we've seen?

How can we have done so much?

To fill my heart and soul.

And how can there be things left to do?

And so much time for us to grow?

How can there still be questions?

When answers are all we seek.

And why, no matter how hard we try,

Are the answers so very bleak?

How could you have been so strong?

When all I could do was cry.

And how can I start to thank-you?

Without you asking why?

How could you have so much left to give?

And will it ever end?

Will you ever start to take back?

Any of the love you send?

You have given so much to everyone,

And have helped us through and through.

You are my friend for always,

Beautiful, strong and true.

So here's my way of simply saying,

That you are but one of a kind.

That our friendship and our love,

Will always be on my mind.

I want to say so much to you,

To make you understand.

Just how special you are to me,

As a very special friend.
