My Favorite Links
It looks like a lot, and it is, but I guarantee there is probably something here you will enjoy. I have grouped them as best as I could, and I have given a short description of what you can find at each site.
I guess you can find out a lot more about a person by seeing what their interests are. Well, as you can see by the variety of links below, I have a lot of interests!
General Links of Interest
Canoe Canadian on-line explorer. Find out what's happening across the country, and find anything you want to know about Canada.
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Like Disney World you practically need a three-day pass to get through this site - covering everything about the company, programming on radio and television, etc. Have a peek - great sound clips from shows, video, and RealAudio of CBC Radio One from Toronto.
Disney Who doesn't love Disney (other than the fanatic Southern Baptists). Site includes all information about the theme parks, resorts and entertainment. Links to other Disney products and media. Great for planning your dream vacation to the Magic Kingdom!
Betty Crocker OK - I do have a couple of really practical links here - this site is great for any level of cook - from beginner to expert. Even has a section that will help you plan your weekly meals, and it'll even print out your required shopping list!
Epicurious Another cooking site - for the more advanced cook. Not for the faint of heart!
Canadian World Domination! This is a great tongue-in-cheek site. We are so docile here in Canada that it is incomprehensible that we want to take over the world! be certain to check out their mail bag and see how many Americans think that we are serious about dominating the world!
British Monarchy The official site of Betty and her brood in Merry old England. Look at the Crown Jewels (we're talking REAL diamonds here, not Charles' family jewels). Giiiiiiirrrrrrrrlllll, nice tiara!
RMS Titanic Webring Lets all jump on the band wagon and look up the Titanic. However I was into it long before it was "cool".
Titanic Ring Another Ring, different sites.
Animaniacs Ring OK, I admit I like the Animaniacs, and Pinky and the Brain in particular. If you have ever seen the show, then you know that the series was meant for a more mature audience - there are too many references that kids just can't get. Guess it's for those of us who are up early on Saturday mornings.
The Simpson's Awards Ring Did you think I would watch the Animaniacs and not the Simpsons? Shame on you - I know you either love them or hate them, so if you love them check this out. If you hate them then get over it and continue down the list.
Trains and Railways
One of my main interests and hobbies
Amtrak The place to start if planning a rail journey in the United States.
Via Rail Canada Great site not just for planning a Canadian rail trip, but they have an extensive gallery as well.
Trainweb Here's a list of all the sites on the Trainweb ring. Descriptions of pages make it easy to pick and choose which ones you want to go to.
Canadian Pacific Railway Canada's first transcontinental railway has a new look - actually an old look - reviving a logo font popular with the company in the 1910s and 20s. Another good site with faboo merchandise for sale, too: sweatshirts, t-shirts, pen sets, and other knick-knacks.
Canadian National Railway Not as nice for the casual surfer as the Canadian Pacific site, but it does still have merit as a site to visit.
Railroad Webring Another railway webring - not many duplicates from Trainweb.
Pennsylvania Railroad Historical and Technical Society The Standard Railroad of the World has this site with lots of info about the Pennsylvania including some recipes from the railway dining car department.
Ontario Railway History Page Amazing to see how many different railways snaked their way through Ontario - a fun site to see which railway was the first one through your city or town (assuming you live in Ontario!).
Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Railway Historical Society This is of local interest to me as I lived in Hamilton for 6 years.
Did I miss listing a site that you think people would enjoy?
