In Search of the Elusive Moose
When things got too difficult
Moose, you stampeded away
Running away from your life
Leaving your problems behind
To face another day.
Moose, have you caught up with your life yet
Have you found yourself
Do you know who you are?
Your brothers, we have been searching for you
Moose hunting once again.
The clues and memories you left behind
Guiding us, showing us
Where you were headed.
Moose, you left your brothers alone.
You would not let them help you
For you were not weak;
You could not help them
For you did not think yourself strong enough.
Your brothers, we did not listen
Deep and hard enough to you
For you were just Silly Moose.
Your brothers, we expected
Too much from you at times
And you expected the most from yourself, always.
Dancing, fencing, skittish Moose,
Is life going well behind the bars,
Are you happy now Moose?
Are your antlers free from
Life's branches of woe?
Are your hooves cleansed of care
And the concerns of the world?
Forgive us, your brothers, Moose
For many of us, we did not
Know ourselves yet,
Much less you.
Moose, wherever you are,
Be well, for you are special,
On of us.
