Son of a Beach

Born of solar fire and earthly flesh
Quenched in sibling fluids salt and fresh
Arriving early summer morning
With surging surf and life web forming
Maize silk on solid muscular bronze
Feet rooted in soft sands of eons
Drawing life from the elements four
Giving love to those who soar
Beatified by those who crawl or swim
Nature's bounty gathers about him
For him to take for him to spare
The Fruits of Creation with him share
All spiritual mists within his reach
The joy and pleasure son of a beach

Flashing bronze and pearl in foaming surf
Scalding salmon home in hydro turf
Ringing laughter holding singing spray
Lively glinting forming carefree play
All elements caress suntanned form
Uncaringly naked windswept and warm
Cradling Creation's deep red heart
One with all never and always a part
Chasing the snipe fooling the gull
Laying the oyster in the waves' lull
Far horizons ring the distant bell
Solitude's memories distort the shell
A journey through loneliness to breach
His sorrow and pain son of a beach

Autumn emotions slowly lengthen
Copper-gold shadows signal day's end
Argent light banishes ruddy glow
Stars rise planets fall heavenly slow
Stroll through planktonic phosphorescence
Quiet in becomes personal essence
Nature assisting his spiritual quest
Journey anew after mossy green rest
High technology undeluded
Ecological modern druid
Far horizons ring a distant knell
Solitude's memories distort the bell
His love to nurture the world to teach
His message to send son of a beach
