Hi I'm beardance,
AKA Bryan D. Spellman. I last updated this site on July 31st, 2006, when I added a picture of Gypsy to Speedy's homepage. For those of you who are interested in ancient history, my Christmas 2000 letter has some great pics of our trip to Turkey, and news of other things Gary and I did in that millenial (or pre-millenial) year. It is located at www.geocities.com/BDSpellman/xmas00.html. My Christmas 99 letter has lots of good pics of fun things and places I visited during 1999. To read it, click here. My Christmas 98 letter is still available, if you're into things like that. To read it, click here. There were no Christmas letters for 2001, 2002 or 2003, 2004, or 2005 but I am considering putting up something for 2006.
I signed up on 12/29/97 19:31:48, and keep adding things and changing other things periodically, so feel free to come on back anytime and see what's new. BTW, most of the pics below the bar are links to other pages or sites. Be sure to check out everything that interests you. There's a lot more here than meets the eye!
COMING ATTRACTIONS
Watch this site! Next up will be links and pages on the Missoula Gay Men's Chorus and our 2006 Concert plans(this daddy sings bass)MGMC. NOTE: I'm the one you can't see in the back row, wearing the rainbow suspenders on the left. I'd also like to invite all and sundry to the Montana Naturist Organization (no, we're not tree huggers, we just like to get naked in the woods). Montana Naturist Organization
A SPECIAL NOTE: Pride 2006 is being held in Helena, Friday through Sunday, June 16-18, 2006. PRIDE!
My interests are:
Gary, Romance, outdoor activities, bears (the human kind), weaving, theatre, music, cars, MinPins (See Speedy's homepage if you don't know what a MinPin is), and reading. (Damn it all, I went to UC Berkeley and got a Ph.D. in French Literature because I loved to read and then find out that reading and studying literature are antithetical.) For a more detailed introduction to me and my interests, click here to see my "Country-Western Page" (well, after all, it's got pictures of my dog, my boat and my truck!). If you'd like to read a more detailed history of the gay movement in Montana (and how I was part of that), click here. I wrote this history for Outspoken, Western Montana's GLBT Newspaper.
The Western Montana Lesbian and Gay Community Center.
Click on the Gay Montana flag to visit the Center's web site which has many links to other areas and organizations of interest to gay people living in or visiting Western Montana.
One of the great things
going for the gay community in Montana is the Montana Gay Men's Task Force, P.O. Box 1253, Billings MT 59103. Check out their site by clicking on this icon: .To learn more
about The University of Montana and the School of Fine Arts, where I worked for 21 years, follow this link.Every year for four years a group
of us canoed the Missouri River Breaks. This great trip covers 50 miles of river in 4 days, with plenty of time for hiking, playing in the water, Trivial Pursuit, or whatever suits our fancy. I've included some photos from the 1997 trip for your enjoyment. For information about upcoming trips, mention my name when you write to the outfitter directly, Don Sorenson at 7mrcc@mail.3rivers.net.To learn more
about my best friend and constant companion, one of the females who consistently shares my bed, click on the dog. Actually there are four dogs who share our lives and bed, but the others have been too shy to put their pages up yet. Watch for further developments. BTW, the others are all black and tan MinPins, and their names are Faylene Grace, Rocky, Minnie (also known as Licker or Duck, or especially Eve of Destruction), and Gypsy. Gypsy is the only one with me currently in California. The others are still in Missoula with Gary. Remember the second verse to the song, How Much is that Doggie in the Window"? It goes, "I must make a trip to California, and leave my poor sweetheart at home. But if he had a doggie to protect him, I know he wouldn't feel so alone." Well, I left three dogs with my sweetheart, and got a new one for me in California so I wouldn't feel so alone. She likes to have me sing to her, and shows her appreciation by jumping up to bite my nose everytime I get to "Please tell me that doggie's for sale." To learn more about Miniature Pinscher Rescue, click here. To learn about the other male who consistently shares my bed and my life, I guess you'll have to ask him yourself, since I haven't been able to convince him to stop puttering and put his web site on-line. (Hint--his name's Gary, and he's a well-known on-line bear!)If you don't know
anything about Montana, you should check out the state's Home Page And if you'd like to look at a neat map of the state, thanks to the Montana Department of Transportation, click here. You get a great choice of several different maps and formats. Finally, the Beardance's cave is in Montana's second largest community, Missoula, which is in the western part of the state, about mid way between north and south, or in the eye socket if you see Montana's western border as a human profile.
