Vicky and a drinkie

Storme's
The George Tavern, 373 Commercial Road, Stepney, E1

Formerly knon as Ron Storme's Travestie Extravaganza, sadly the great Ron Storme passed away in late 2000, a sad loss.

This night is held weekly on Saturday nights (9.00pm-3.00 am or so). This is a GREAT night out There's something really laid back about the atmosphere which makes this a favourite Vicky night out. The mix of people is really varied and for some reason it's slightly less of a 'fashion show' than some other tv places; people are just there to have a good time. If you do decide to go, there's parking nearby and remember that the entrance is not on the main road - that's the 'ordinary' bit of the pub! Highly recommended, a really fun night out.

The Way Out Club
9 Crosswall
Take a peek at the Way Out website

The 'Way Out' club is held every Saturday night and is billed as being for 'boys, girls and inbetweenies'. Each week there is a theme which sometimes includes a cabaret. Not so long ago there was a great dance act called 'Les Rimini Sans' that Leanne really liked, nice moves. Sometimes the theme is more in the way of OTT humour. There's also the 'starsearch' nights where you can have a go in showing off your own talents, though most folk are either very shy or just plain untalented because the club's hostess, the evah-so-friendleee Vicky Lee, always seems to have a problem finding enough numbers! There's an occasional fetish night every few months too (You can see Vicky all dolled up in skintight latex rubber on the picture above...), though we've not been to one of those in a long while now - alas, the entrance price is higher on those nights and no dress code is enforced - so while you may be shimmying away in your tighest of skintight rubber mini-dresses there tends to be too many oafish clods in regular gear too who can sometimes be a pain with their uninvited attentions.

The club's quite near Tower Bridge (and Vicky, that exhibitionist little vixen, has simply had to pose for some pictures there before now!). The club is very handy if you're a bit nervous about going out 'en femme' because parking is easy, with plenty of space on the road directly outside - though we aren't so shy these days! You can dress there if necessary, though we've not tried out this facility, so can't tell you anything about it. This latest venue even has a lift that takes you down to the club level, which is better than the previous venue for the disabled amongst our fraternity. If you can handle the fairly hefty drinks prices and sometimes obscure dance music, then this is the place for you. They do a nice pizza too! It's reasonably friendly and there's no dress code, although 'dress to impress' seems to be the norm - some of the trannies there are horribly good - grrrrrrr!!! In recent times there has tended to be a lot of 'tranny fanciers' milling about too, which is sometimes a bit off-putting, especially if you're there dead early, we've found.

Lipstick
The Philbeach Hotel, Philbeach Gardens, Earls Court

This is basically a tv-friendly gay hotel in Earl's Court, 3 minutes walk from the Earls Court tube station and exhibition centre. It used to be the case that the first Monday of each month was the best night for tvs - the 'Loose Ladies' night (which was never too accurate as most tvs there aren't 'gagging' for it) - though this has changed in recent times as the bar has been (eventually!!!!) refurbishedand renamed 'Appleby's Bar'. The TV nights are now held every Monday (5pm till late) and are called 'Lipstick'. A buffet is available and there is a changing room (not tried that out as yet though). There is an entrance fee, it used to be a fiver, may still be the same, can't say for sure as unfortunately, we've not been there for bsolutely ages now. Hopefully we'll get a chance to go along before too long and that should give Vicky the opportunity to wear some ridiculously short skirts and see-through dresses. Tart. In the past, Leanne didn't even notice other people there on 'Loose Ladies' nights - being far too busy troughing on the buffet. Jimmy, the barman, is the nicest person on the planet - 10 minutes after meeting him, you WILL want to hug him!

You can find out mroe details by telephoning 0171 373 1244 or 0171 373 4848. Being a hotel you can also have a room there which is dead handy - though there is also the New York hotel next door and The Beaver a little bit up the same street - both of which we've stayed in before and found to be tranny-friendly.
