My Elven Friend
I met an elf one summery day.
He was bright and beautiful in his own way.
With eyes that would melt the coldest of hearts.
His words told me a friendship would start.
You say there are no such things as elves,
You say all I do is fool myself.
A fool I would rather be
Than not to have a friend as he.
For I know his songs and the warmth of his smile
I know his kindness, his charm and his elven style.
A friend such as his comes once in a life
Even though his words and actions at times cut like a knife.
He means no harm, he seeks only to please
And it is that thought that puts my heart at ease.
My friend, the elf the bard.
Always rememer I am here when times they are hard..
