In September 2004, Carmel and I embarked on the Annapurna Circuit with Ama Dablam Trekking Company. Because the trek started just one week after the riots in Kathmandu protesting the execution of kidnapped Nepali workers in Iraq, everyone else cancelled their booking leaving just Carmel and me!
So, along with Mukund, our trek leader, Santa the sirder, Dev the sherpa, 5 kitchen crew and 5 porters, we two princesses set off by bus to the trail head at Besi Sahar
