Tibetan Journey

The Jokhang Temple

Our hotel, the Kyi Chu, was just down the road from the Jokhang and the Barkhor, so we were able to walk there. The sight of Tibetans prostrating at the front of the temple brought tears to my eyes - I found it very moving. We were taken on a whirlwind tour of all the chapels inside the main temple and received blessings from Hayagriva, the horse-headed Buddha. We then went on a circumambulation of the Barkhor, which circles the Jokhang.
