If it is required to contact any of my colleagues,
please send email to me and I will provide a detailed list of their names and phone
numbers.
To Whom it May Concern:
I have known Kimberley Scott for six years, since we worked closely on the
Technical Computing Systems at XXX XXX Nickel Operations. In that time I have
had a great deal of contact with Kimberley in a work environment and to a lesser
degree on a social level.
I have always known Kimberley to be an excellent worker, and in possession of
a pleasant personality consummate with computer support and customer
satisfaction. Kimberley has been regarded to be the number one Unix System
Administrator in Perth during her time here, her work being highly respected by
computing professionals in Perth.
Kimberley was directly responsible for the success of the Sun Workstation
environment in the XXX group, incorporating some 112 workstations at 8 sites
around the country. During her time with XXX, she put into place systems that
streamlined operations, ensured integrity of data and standardised working
environments for all workstations.
Since departing from XXX, Kimberley was responsible for XXX's emergence into
the technical computing areas of the Perth market, by offering top of the range
support for customers.
It is my opinion that Kimberly's experience in Unix Administration, C and
Shell-Script Programming and system development would make her an asset to any
organisation.
For any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
To Whom It May Concern:
I started work with XXX Pty Ltd in 1990 and have been Information Systems
Manager for the past two and a half years, prior to this I held the posts of
Senior Programmer and Database Administrator.
I have known Kim for most of this time and have employed her on numerous
occasions. Kim's knowledge of Unix systems coupled with her ability to pick up
new concepts and think around problems has made her the most valuable asset to
our company. When in 1997 Kim made the decision to leave Perth and move to
Sydney I was most concerned that we would not be easily able to find anyone to
fill the gap. These fears have been realised with a string of personnel coming
through our support company who all have some specialist knowledge but none
having the overall grasp of how we do business.
Perth's loss is Sydney's gain and I would not hesitate to give my
unconditional recommendation to any future employer of Kim.
Please feel free to contact me by whatever means to discuss this further.
To whom it may concern
I have worked with Kimberley for a period of six years. During this time I
performed the role of account manager and Kimberley the role of technical
consultant.
During this time, together with our then team, we installed some of the first
serious internet service providers in Australia using Netscape and Sun
Microsystems Products. Subsequent to this, development was undertaken for a
database management system designed to integrate into the Oracle Financial suite
of programs. The system was the first web-based system to integrate with the
Oracle web server in Australia with Kimberley specifying and building the
prototype system.
During the time I have known Kimberley, I have been consistently surprised by
the depth of knowledge and ability of hers to produce results that easily exceed
client expectations.
I have no hesitation in recommending Kimberley and would make myself
available for further discussion should this be required.
To whom it may concern
I have know Kimberley Scott in both a professional manner and a social manner
for the last six years.
I first met Kimberley at XXX XXX Operations in Northern South Australia while
I was employed as Technical Geologist for XXX. Kimberley was contracting to the
MIS Dept of XXX at the time and involved with coordinating the implementation of
a Standard Operating Environment. With her extensive UNIX skill she was
invaluable in assisting with the advanced system administration problems that we
encountered. Kimberley visited the mined seven or eight times over a two year
period. In between visits, Kimberley was also heavily involved with supporting
the mine's Unix system, especially with the more complex situations.
Another valuable service that Kimberley provided was to write training and
reference manuals for XXX personal. From Basic Unix Guides to complex System
Administration Manuals, her manuals were extensively used and she also provided
training courses using these manuals. Everyone that used the manuals or were
involved in Kimberley's training course commented on the user friendliness, the
ease of understanding and knowledge that she imparted.
I transfered from XXX XXX Operations to XXX Petroleum in Perth. We again used
Kimberley in very much the same manner as before while she contracted to MIS and
also when she worked for XXX. Kimberley was also a contributing factor with our
success and lack of downtime when we moved offices from West Perth into the
City. This involved the transfer, reconnection and restructuring of some 15
heavyweight workstations and 2 servers. Whilst working for XXX Petroleum
Kimberley was involved in major hardware and software upgrades, various
programmes that assisted staff in their day to day work.
Since leaving XXX Petroleum I became the Manager for XXX, a Mining Software
company, and whilst not using Kimberley in a direct System Administration role,
I have called upon her vast experience in both the computing and especially the
mining computing areas and have always found her advice and solutions
excellent.
Kimberley is very concientious and dedicated to all facets of her work, she
has an immense knowledge of the Unix operating system, hardware and programming
languages. Consequently I have no hesitation in recommending her to any future
employer.
Over this time I have developed a personal friendship with Kimberley and have
socialised with her of many occasions and therefore can testify to her character
and personality.
I have a great amount of respect for Kimberley, both personally and
professionally and would gladly speak on her behalf if needed. I can be contact
at work
To whom it may concern
XXXX Government Services aquired Kim's services via XXX in 1995. She was
instrumental in implementing our Ascend wide area network and assisted with
several lan and Solaris Unix problems experienced at that time.
I found Kim to be a very dedicated and conscientious analyst. Her analytical
skills, combined with her extensive knowledge of the systems in question,
allowed for rapid problem resolution and implementation.
Kim comes across as a very affable person with good communication skills and
a strong customer focus. I am sure she can make a valuable contribution to any
project requiring her skillset.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Re: Kimberley Scott
Kimberley was previously employed by me in my role as State Manager of Sun
MicrosystemsAustralia Pty Ltd during the period of 1990 to 1993. The position
was one of post sales support working directly with our customers helping to
solve their implementation and any other system problems that may arise.
During this period Kimberley built a tremendous rapport with and earned great
respect from many of our customers for her dedication to the job and energy and
effort put in to resolve the issues at hand. Through her own initiative she
encouraged our remote customers to use Email for a more rapid support
turn-a-round which was so successful quite a number of the metropolitan clients
adopted it too.
Kimberley was extremely client focussed and would not rest if a client had a
current issue to be resolved, even if this meant working through the night.
Kimberley left Sun when the company decided to restructure its post sales
support operations and centralise them out of Sydney.
I would be happy to answer any questions on this period of Kimberley's work
history and can be contacted on my Mobile (Please contace Kim for details)
To whom it may concern,
I would like to act as a referee for Ms Kimberley Scott. In an ever changing
world, you might be forgiven for thinking that Kim's change in life is not the
industry normal. We believe that in todays global community that the internet,
our core business, lives up to the phrase "on the internet, noone knows you're a
dog". A year ago the internet was HTML and bunches of images, today it is an
ever growing market, with an ever increasing demand for the skills Kim has.
Trust me, her skills are almost impossible to find.
We have workied with Kim on several solutions over the past year. She has at
all times added tremendous value to our business, giving us a many options
beyond that of the brief. Not only is she hard working and very good at the
tasks set, she has that 'extra' spark which takes her value beyond the C.V.
you've probably read.
Our company's client list includes XXXX and XXX's various divisions, all of
whom have an extensive I.T. operation, and Kim is more than able to work with
these to provide a solution. More often that not, she is able to do things that
the software is not supposed to do and is always innovative.
It is dissapointing that in todays society that she faces a high level of
homophobia. This is often disguised or worse still, hidden away. We had the same
doubts, "how will clients react, will she integrate, does her head spin round?"
- all of which were never an issue and all our clients warmed to her pleasant
nature, and now have a respect for her skills which at the end of the day is the
only real issue.
We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her to you, and urge you to
do as we did, employ her on her skills and ability. Put aside your fears, you'll
soon find that there's more to Kim than a pretty face.
XXX is an equal opportunities employer, working in mainstream internet and
advertising solutions.
