DETAILS: Initial press reports of The Ligue's history-making ninth-inning brawl with volatile Kansas City Royals first-base coach Tom Gamboa at Chicago's Comiskey Park last week suggested the fight was alcohol and/or drug related, however the true story is finally beginning to come out. As described by Travis in "IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER" Gamboa is not the innocent victim, but rather an explosive and volatile angry man who was repeatedly egging-on the Ligues since the seventh-inning stretch, and allegedly encouraged them to join him on the field. This groundbreaking new play, conceived in an isolated room at a juvenille detention center and written in free verse, is in the style of a long monolgue with small but powerful dramatic scenes, and will finally give Travis a chance to clear his name, as well as that of his father.
