I have a wide variety of interests and hobbies.  I'm in the process of fleshing out the sections on each of them, but if I waited until the whole web was complete, I wouldn't publish it until next year!

I've recently been accepted into the MBA program in Information Technology Management at Athabasca University.  I'm very excited about this program, as it is coordinated via distance education, which is the field I work it.  I start the program in September 2000, and should finish by 2003.  A particularly nice feature of the program is that I don't have to attend classes in a physical space.  Once every day or two, the student logs into the server and downloads discussion databases and replies to them, allowing in-depth participation with fellow learners all over the world.  I'll be sure to update this part of my web page as I experience the different aspects of the program.

As far as previous education, I have a B.A. from the University of Toronto.  I majored in Political Science (specializing in Political Theory) and minored in English, with some courses in Environmental Geography.  I've also been reading a lot of history recently, particularly books on Medieval France and Britain, and some Irish history as well.

I also have to add Rome to a list of interests.  I've studied Roman history previously, and have a rudimentary understanding of Latin, although it's been years since I studied it formally.  My trip to Rome (see the Rome section of my Photo Album) was an amazing experience!  I spent ten days walking around the city, while poor David stayed in his medical conference.  One of the most amazing places in the city has to be the Vatican Museum.  I spent three whole days touring it, and really just scratched the surface.  The Sistine Chapel was unbelievably beautiful, as was Raphael's Transfiguration.  Until seeing this picture, I thought it was possible to learn about art as effectively from a book as one could learn about it in real life.  But nothing does justice to the Transfiguration up close.  When critics talk about Raphael's use of light and shadow, it doesn't really hit you until you're up close and areas of the painting seem to glow in front of you.

I'm also a Star Trek fan.  Doesn't quite go hand in hand with the above topics, but I still enjoy it.  I have many friends that I've made from attending conventions over the years.  I count some of these people among my closest friends.  I've gotten a bit bored with it over the past years, since the market was saturated with the show, but I've kept in touch with all my old friends.  I'll be at Toronto Trek this year, as I am every year, so you can keep an eye out for me there.  (Toronto Trek is a convention that takes place around the end of July each year in Toronto.)  For more information on the club and conventions, go to my Favourites section of my web page, and click the IDIC link.

I also really enjoy going to raves and circuit parties.  I also have a lot of friends from these events.  You can check out the photo section for more information.

My work at the Bank of Montreal is primarily focused around developing training material for people in the personal retail banking areas.  I enjoy finance, and I like writing, so it's the perfect combination for me.

I'll have to develop this section a bit more thoroughly, but this gives you an idea!
