You sure do some nice work! I am new to webtv and just
about 'puter illiterate. Been around several 'puters and
gave up on them. They are still in the hobbiest stage; even
businesses can't rely on their working without support
staffs. Webtv is ideal for m
. After many hours of lurking the various news groups I've
finally gotten interested in jazzing up my email sig..maybe
a color bg and contrast color text,so am looking at what
one can dowith html. I know just enough about it to
appreciate the work you put
in on your page. WOW!!
Congratulations on the fine work..you should consider doing
this sort of thing proffessionally(sp?).

Bobcat, I've visited your San Diego page and I enjoyed it.
I visited a friend in SD back in 1992 and really enjoyed my
visit. I'm from one of those "hick" country towns in NYS
and was in culture shock visiting SD. But I found it so
beautiful! Biggest
mpression...the constant blue skies! I'm hoping to revamp
my home page in the next month and include a tidbit on my
visit there......

Bob, I couple of constructive criticisms of your home page.
Keep in mind that the "average" visitor to your page will
be viewing at 640x480x256 colors, using a 28.8 baud modem
and may or may not have multimedia capability. With that in
mind: 1. Not everyone visiting your page has full
multimedia, and thus your background midi file wreaks havoc
to the point where a visitor using a notebook computer
with no midi capability, or someone who has no sound card
installed on their desktop, will simply press STOP and move
on to the next place they wish to visit. 2. The average
user is still equipped with a 28.8 modem, your home page at
that baud rate takes so long to download and fully display,
the end result will be the same as the result described
above. This is due to the fact that your midi file has to
download first, then you have a large jpg file that takes
much too long to download. You could increase your page's
display time by decreasing the size of the jpg (an overing
a link to make it full sized), or (this doesn't work as
well) making the jpg a progressive jpg, which would paint
out in layers like an interlaced .gif file. 3. One last
thing, the background you use on your guestbook page, while
pleasant enough, clashes with the color chosen for the
intro text, making it virtually unreadable. Choose a
different color for the text and make it bold so it will
display on top of the background pattern.Too many people
will simply go to your page, then bail on you without
telling you why. I know how much effort goes into building
a page, and we all want something we can be proud to have
our friends and family, not to mention new associates, go
to and get a feeling of who you are. I hope my suggestions
are taken i the spirit intended, and I wish you well in
your efforts to continue evolving your page.Ken

Liked your webpage, BobCat, thought at first it was a puma
but then noticed the size. Thought it still too large for
a kitty cat; glad you said it was a lynx. I've seen those
here in PA, too. I need help/pointers on my home page.
Can you help me?
