n regard to phone service, there are more than 20 "local service providers" in the area, but it is my understanding that not all of them provide service in all areas. Sprint® is the basic phone service provider (phone installation, directory distribution, line maintenance outside the home), but their long distance service is expensive: 30¢/minute! One can find much lower long distance rates.
